Hearts Necklace with Linea Chain

This necklace was conceived initially as part of an exhibition of Ippolita Rostagno's hand-blown glass art, titled Reliquary, and was worn as a bracelet on the wrist of an oversized glass hand. The exhibition was made up of larger-than-life glass bones and the underlying conceit of the show was that the magic of reliquaries is created by the viewer who, in an act of faith, invests the inanimate object with magical powers. If magic is something you can conjure through the crafting of art objects, then I will create jewelry that the wearer can infuse with meaning such as this heart necklace,” says Ippolita, the artist turned designer. The inscriptions on each heart are truisms that, while pointing out the obvious, also underscore that the obvious is worth repeating, as it provides continuity to the human experience.
